Default Does boost kill older Maf's??

I just put a sts kit on my oo camaro and I have went thru 3 stock maf's already. When I put new one on "used" they work great but after a few days my idle gets worse and worse. When i unplug the maf or but a different one on the idle is great. Is the boost killing them and do the newer maf's hold up if so?

Are you seeing oil in the charge piping? Boost shouldn't affect the maf. Oil on the maf will create all kinds of issues.

Replacing so many MAFs seems excessive. Go to your local parts store and get some MAF cleaner for around $7 bucks. Spray the maf, charge piping, and intake manifold behind the throttle body. You will be amazed at how much gunk is accumulated.

Every three months I also seafoam the engine and remove a section of my charge pipes to check for oil, water residue. Unfortunately, STS and custom rearmounts collect ALOT of debris, water, and oil in the pipes due to the location.

Replacing 3 just seems ridiculous. Have you considered just going to an SD tune? Although that really wouldn't solve the problem of what is killing your MAF and might create more problems in the long run.

I had the same problem with a supercharger. I did two things. I shut down the meth injection which was postioned about a foot in front of the MAF. I also went from my bypass valve venting to the engine bay to back to the intake side of the supercharger. My guess is the meth injection was dropping an amount of fluid on the MAF. Boost was not the problem in my case.

I have been cleaning them but this last time I cleaned it it seemed to last longer b4 the idle started to mess up. I haven't cleaned the piping though. I will try that.
