A trick I've always done , and am currently running that works great.....
Take an old K&N filter of any kind, (Preferably ls1 because of the size) and with a pair of tin snips , or strong scissors, cut the outer rubber rim off, or top and bottom if its a cone style.
You will then be able to separate the outer and inner layer of screen mesh and remove the " gauze " type cloth material from the center.
Your then left with two very durable and malleable wire mesh screens. Flatten them out (very simple by hand) and cut to the desired radius. Hold both pieces pressed together and you can see that the square crosshatching pattern will line up. simply rotate the two layers until they create hundreds of triangles. Its extremely mold-able so you can cover anything.
I have 3 layers on my 5 inch inlet on my turbo. You can even use 3 or 4 layers if you like.
