Crank pin question
Crank pin question I pinned my IW balancer with a hardened split pin today because the pin that came with the kit wasnt tight enough.Probably from me being not quite accurate with the drill.The split pin fits in nice and tight.I then red locktighted the bolt and torqued it to 135 lbs.I couldnt sleep last night thinking the pin wouldnt hold.Its on a v-7 vortech Ls-7.Like to have 800 rwhp.Do I need to put another pin on the other side of the snout?I am new at the FI game but learning all the time.
if its a hollow pin take that **** out before you kill the pulley and crank. must be a solid pin.
Well Im not sure how much load a v7 puts on the crank but if its like a procharger F1R or bigger needs to be replaces cause of the load or if the car is a stick cause of the rapid load change on it
