Absolutley, you should wrap everything 2 or three times in my opinion. The more heat you can keep in, the better off you'll be. ANd yes, Ditch those cats, something comes loose and makes it to the turbo, Bye bye turbo. Especially since you know they are clogged.

Sorry to jack your thread but. How much of a difference will the heat wrapping make?

I have a front mount that the PO made and nothing is wrapped, but the turbo has a blanket lol.

Would I be able to notice quicker spooling time with my turbo or would it just reduce the engine bay heat?

I used the dei titanium wrap and it looks great easy to install as well. Don't have to worry about all that fiberglass everywhere. I haven't fired it up yet but I researched a good bit and people seem to have great results with it.

Side note : Does heat wrap work like an insulator? As in, if you wrapped your intake piping as well would it prevent heat from soaking in from the engine compartment?

I have seen people wrap their intake piping with the reflective aluminum wrap but I don't know if it had any effect.

Wow that look good! I hate they fiber **** everwhere hell if you wet it it still gets on everything.

To the op yes mac y pipe is the best to go with. If you can get away with no cats thats even better. But if you use cats by the extreme hi temps one with a metel mesh. I think kooks have them.

I have also found that if you soak fiberglass wrap in water, it makes it a lot easier to work with. You also dont have all the fiberglass particles floating around.

yep the DEI titanium is the ****

i have had it on my car for over a year

It doesn't discolor even slightly with use..... i even mad a mess with oil on the DP once and it didn't discolor..... just burnt the oil off and looked like new

i recently changed some stuff on my DP so i pulled the wrap off..... the **** is still stretchy and like new!

the stuff is very stretchy so no need for water like the normal stuff, and it is super easy to work with

Thats good to hear that the wrap holds up. I know that you are not supposed to layer it because the heat will build up and posibly crack the piping. As far as quanity, I have used 2 50x2" rolls of it. That did my headers, and crossover piping. I need to get one more role to do the rest.

I used one 50x2" to wrap what you see in my pic..... one time like they say to in the directions

i used another 50x2" roll to wrap my DP back past the firewall.... i wrapped that a heavy 2 times though just because

and you can see in this pic with the wrap off after over a year of beating on it, the aluminized DP still looks great....... and it would stay so cool i could hold my hand on the DP right after beating on the car

i took the wrap off to add a cutout as you can see
