Default I need YOUR advice!

I have two cams at my disposal for my stock bottom end build that I'm doing.

I have a 221/227 .581 .591 @114 cam in the block right now. This cam put 600rwhp down with a d1sc @14 lbs.

I also have a brand new cam at my disposal that's a 222/234 .596 .601@115+3

I'm not sure which one to go with. The proven smaller cam, or the new Donkey cam...

I'm new to the FI world so I wanted to get some seasoned vet's opinions.

Thank you for your help!

Matt

They're so close, you have to wonder if it would be worth the trouble to swap. The second one may dyno a little better, but I'd bet the butt dyno wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The extra LSA should smooth the slightly bigger duration and lift. I'd choose the second one if both were sitting on the table. I'd leave it as is if either was already installed.

Bump for more input

The smaller cam IS in the block right now. And I am a fan of the sleeper lope.

Daily driver... sleeper lope..... gets the job done.... stick with the 221/227.

The 221/227 is going to make enough power to make you grit your teeth with a stock bottom end anyways.

If you plan on running more boost, and big RPM the larger cam could be better. At 14psi the cam you have will make more tq.

You're a fan of the sleeper lope and it is already installed, leave it in there then. Bob

I run a 230/236, .592/.602 112LSA and made 636RWHP on 14psi with stock heads... take it for what it's worth. The car is definitely not a sleeper, though. It has a pretty mean idle for such a mid-sized cam.

Those are some amazing numbers! I'm hoping mine isn't TOO noticeable. I was looking through your sig and saw your 1/4 time. Seems a little low for your setup/power? Did you let off?
