timing chain
timing chain so im building a new 6.0 block motor for fi and im putting all forged internals and im trying to keep the price down on my project and the company that im getting to do the motor suggested that i should just go with a stock type roller chain for like $70 and the double roller would be around $240, i plan on running around 8lb of boost for now and prob going to 14 to 18 down the road after i brake the new motor in.
So the question is, is it that much more important to go with a double over a single?

The timing chain has no idea how much boost or HP you are making.
There's a bunch running a stock LS2 chain with great reliability.
I run the C5R chain from Katech and stock sprockets and I'm not worried one bit.
The best friend of any chain is a full size harmonic balancer. The bulk of timing chain failures are a result of using an underdrive pulley which lets engine harmonics get out of hand and revealing any weak links (pun intended) in the system.
