1998 Formula turbo/ supercharger?
I recently bought a 1998 formula from an auction. when i bought it, it was lock with keys in it so i could really tell what it had. but i did know the motor was shot, (broke rod). i did notice that it had a boost gauge and Af gauge in a gauge pod. so i was thinking maybe it had a turbo or supercharger on it. after getting it to my office i was able to open it and see what i really had there. i dont see a turbo or super charger on it and it doesnt look like anyone removed any thing. intake bolts look untouched same as exhaust. it does have quit a bit of aftermarket gear though. is there any way i could be missing something here. why a boost gauge with no boost? i looked under the car as well because i was told turbo in these car would be mounted in back. but i see nothing.

what pics would you like me to post? i have a ton. also the car has had alot of money put in it. im not saying it did have a turbo but just doesnt look like the type of car that someone just throws a gauge in. it has alot of extra on it. from boyd coddington rims and nitto tires to monte carlo bar, 4 in cowl ramair hood and volent intake, full exhaust(this is just what i can see where it sits and will try to pick it up today with my forklift and get under better and ill get pics there as well. just doesnt look like the guy would have spent money on a fake gauge. but who knows.

dont believe there any other than stock ones. im gonna get a good motor pic right now and come post it. i have alot of experience with turbo cars like DSMs. i just sold my 1990 eagle talon TSI AWD, so i do understand the concept of how it all work just not a lot when it come to turbos/superchargers on F-bodies. im going to get that pic now
my pic wont load. saying that ls1tech is having problems but i will keep trying. also i just dont see where it has anything now because the air intake goes straight to the intake manifold. if its not there is there anything i can look for to see if maybe there was something there that was removed before the insurance calm. im just think if i had one on my car a they were gonna total the car, id pull it to.
here that pic.

yea thats what im thinking. anyway to tell if he put stock parts back on it before the claim. all the dirt seems to match on motor, as far as doesnt look like he turned on any bolts. guess it could have been an idiot that just want to act cool and have a boost gauge

boost wantabe, funny thing is i was reading this thread and then drove to the store and on my way at a stop light next to me was a newer v6 mustang with some baller wheels and had a gauge pod and it was very obvious that none of the guages worked or were even wired in and one of them was a boost gauge
i dont get it who are you going to impress? newbs
