Default LS1 manifold vs LS6 with boost

I am on a budget and looking to do a turbo setup and trying to save as much money as possible. How much power am I leaving on the table with an ls1 vs an ls6?

A pretty common formula is that your hp with double at 14.7psi boost. If an LS6 intake were to pick up 15rwhp on your motor N/A, it 'should' pick up 30 at 14.7psi. Or at 8psi, maybe 23rwhp. Again, this is a general rule of thumb, lots of other variables. I know what it's likes to do things on a budget but $300 would be money well spent imho. Same thing goes for a ported TB. These are things you could do later but it would require the tune to be modified to make sure the tune is safe and take advantage of the extra flow. Might be better to do it now if possible.

agree w/ SStolen, a good foundation will help w/ the blower. good flowing heads, exhaust & intake may have the car show lower boost, BUT it will make more power because the air is flowing better.

LS6 intake is a cheap upgrade when you look @ the whole picture

I'd just run the ls1 intake and put that money somewhere else, you can make big power on the ls1 intake. How much power are you trying to make?

I agree. Big power can be made with a ls1 intake. I prefer to use a ls6 intake if possible. But a c5 ls1 intake works excellent under pressure since has no egr bore. And looks just like an ls6

Just build the turbo set up and worry about the manifold later. Put the $ towards an electronic boost controller or meth kit.
