Default Spark plugs, E85 and boost

I was thinking about this the other day and it got me wondering. when running 93 octane and boost it is the general consensus to run a colder plug to prevent detonation and since E85 is prone to this due to its higher octane would one be able to run say factory type plugs and not have to worry about pre-ignition or is it also recommended to go 1 or 2 heat ranges colder?

You still need to go colder. I had issues with the plugs blowing out on my last dyno session due to not running a colder plug w/e85.

Thought it was the other way around

EDIT: From things ive read, E85 is more prone to PRE-Ignition. However, pre-ignition often leads to detonation and failure.

EDIT 2: Also, running a colder plug seems to be the best answer

I run the BR7EF's on E85. Made 1000+ with them and they looked fine after pulls and lots of street driving

I would gap them a little bit less than what you would run on pump gas too.
