Default Installing meth today..is this an ideal place?

The IAT is already installed in this location(in yellow) and I was thinking about placing the nozzles on each side of the pipe(in red) as shown in the picture. They are 2 M7 nozzles, so they should atomize really well. I figured this would be far enough back to cool the incoming charge, and also register on the sensor so I could add and pull timing with the temp change. I didn't want the nozzles too close to the IAT. Also, I will be running a 33/66 meth/water mix(1 gal of M1 to 2 gal dis.water)

That looks perfect. They say 6" from the throttle body is best but that should be just fine.

Is it okay to have the meth nozzles placed before a 90° turn like that? I always thought it was recommended to have a straight shot into the manifold?

Yes. Im using 2 small M7s at high pressure. You don't want to get too close to the intake manifold(from what im told) because you wont have equal distribution to each cylinder. Plus having them further away allows the meth/water to cool the intake charge air.

Tried it tonight and it works great. Temps and AF dropped really quick. I have it set through my boost controller to turn on at 9.7psi. Immediately the IATS dropped along with the AFR. Im going to do some tuning tonight to see what I can get out of it. The owner of the company I bought my kit from said putting it before one 90* would cause no issues. Also where I have it, the meth has more time to better cool the intake charge coming in.

I love how meth lowers the temp. I run close to ambient which helps fight detonation

Good luck

How quickly does your sensor respond to the meth?

That is exactly how I did mine except I only have one nozzle.

The temperature reacts immediately since mine hits injection point quickly I really don't dop temperature as much as never having the temperature rise.

If that question is for me...I went ~7.8 1/8 on that pass the engine back fired ~150 foot mark and I coasted. You can hear the engine backfire and me pull out if you listen closely

That makes sense. At first I wasn't sure if it was working. The temp would start to rise sharply(as usually) then level out(not normal) and as soon as id let off the throttle the temp would drop hard.

A friend swears mine isn't working and only 'fooling' the IAT sensor. I believe it makes the air denser (cooler) and helps prevent detonation (octane). As for how much, I push where I would without and feel that leaves me some margin.

Especially if the meth fails I shouldn't melt. With boost you never have enough margin, but I believe meth gives us a little so to me it is worth it.

Others turn it up more with meth and that's cool just I prefer to increase detonation safety. I use Blue windshield wiper fluid with one can of yellow 'Heet' that seems to make the gallon flammable. There is a big debate on the mixture as well

Thanks

Well it seems to be working pretty good. I only had the boost up to 12psi so far but one thing I notice is the IATs still rise but slower..and whenever I shift, they shoot down. then start to go back up again.
