8 Rib Procharger ?

Default 8 Rib Procharger ?

Just got my motor back and we were mocking up the procharger set up and ran into a issue.

My engine builder used an ATI 8 Rib balancer but how does it run my stock 6 rib accessories?

Or should the balancer be a 6 rib and the pully you bolt on be the 8 rib?

Any help would be great!

The 6 rib belt will run on the 8 rib balancer without issues just be sure and line it up with the accessories.

Brian, with an 98-02 F Body the accessories run in the stock location on the balancer, and the eight rib crank pulley runs outboard on the ProCharger supplied crank pulley. The ProCharger instruction manual shows how it goes together. Bob

I would not use an 8 rib balancer as that would throw off the alignment of the add on pulley for the blower.

I guess the big question is what car is this going in Vett, truck, F body... makes a difference

Correct, he has a 1999 F Body, and bought from me a ProCharger F-1A system with the ProCharger front mount intercooler kit. I don't think he bought his harmonic balancer from me, but he should have the ATI Performance Products 918853 balancer. Bob

Brian, what's the pn# on the one you got? Quite a few of them will work, although the three bolt holes may not be drilled on the outer skin the the balancer. They will be drilled on the hub but not on the outer skin, which can be drilled out. Bob

like said above you should make sure you have the correct ati balancer and pinning kit in addition. the order of the pulleys from closest to furthest from the engine should be 1. 4 rib a/c compressor pulley. 2. 6 rib accesory pulley. 3. 8/12 rib procharger pulley. i'm putting my set up together right now myself, but having some different problems.

on my old one just the out side pulley was 8 rib that ran the blower, and the other was 6 rib that ran the accesories
