Tips/tricks/hints for doing fab work
yeah, since i cant weld aluminum myself, i wrapped duct tape around my pieces soi it would be very strong... i just kept adding duct taped bunds until my coldside was done, and then I handed the whole thing to a shop who TIG'd it up for me. they just cut out a little spot like fireball said to tack it in place, and then removed the rest of the tape...
obviously you cant leave the pool noodle in all the bands, or you will never get them all out. i use the pool noodle to hold a pipe until I can mark it and then tack it on (steel) or duct tape it (aluminum)
and like a lot of people have said, if you can swing it, buy a vertical bandsaw.. even a harbor freight one but put a nice quality blade on it.
