6-71 question
The design of the base puts bolts around the outside of the base to bolt it down but the surfaces that need to be sealed are far from these bolts. The gasket appears to be clamping well around the bolts but not the inner section of the gasket. The surfaces appear to be properly machined flat.
On the gasket that was removed, the red areas in the front & rear look pretty poor. The back section looks like it's stretched a bit. The gasket is obviously bad.
Gasket pic (just a stock photo, not the removed one): Black areas well clamped. Red areas, not very well clamped. The red areas is where the clamping is needed the most.
My question: Does anybody make a better gasket such as a printoseal type gasket?
