Default What pulley & what plug?

Two questions:

#1. What pulley would I need to safely max out my D-1 boosting an LQ9 AES 390 with Alky Control, 83 lb injectors, 4.5 twin intercoolers and Lonnies double pump setup.

#2. What type of plug would I need for this type of power?

Any help greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks

Hi Andy, you'll have to figure out high high you are going to spin your 390, but here is the ProCharger rpm formula. Max impeller speed for the D-1SC is 62000 rpm.

To determine the impeller speed, the following formula is used:

Maximum impeller speed = crankshaft pulley diameter (N1) divided by supercharger pulley diameter (N2),multiplied by the step-up ratio (4.10 for the P-series/D series - 5.40 for the F series), multiplied by engine rpm at redline.

The smallest pulley ProCharger makes for the head unit in an eight rib is 3.40. Your crank pulley is a 7.65

The NGK TR6 pn#4177 plugs will still work at the max boost you'll see with your D-1SC, especially since your car is also street driven down there in El Paso. You could go a little colder and go with TR7 plugs, but I doubt you'll need to. Bob

Hey Bob, some how I knew you would come in here and help me out, Thanks. Based on the formula you gave me 6500 rpm would put me at 59962 impeller speed, which is kind of close but still within the max. I would think that 6500 rpm's would be more than enough to get me to the power I'm looking for, what do you think? As for the plugs, is there drop of in performance if I go with the TR7 over the TR6 and what gap should I go with for either plug.

Thanks again

You're welcome. 6500 rpm should do the job, you could always try 6700 rpm to see if it makes a difference, although you might end up with some belt slippage.
I'd stay with the TR6 plugs, they won't foul out as easy as TR7 plugs will.
.032 is what I would gap them to. Bob
