I told you those high psi springs were not good on a stock motor, and now it sounds like a broken ring land. Well time to build a motor

Geez dude! I really wish that you had more contact with the members on this board before you went out boosting.... Practically everything you did to decrease the spool time and up the pressure was terribly wrong. Make sure that when you get everything back together that you follow sound advice first.

yup well you live and you learn right? did compression test and #7 piston compression was non existent gauge didn't even move so safe to say motor is toast had 89xxx miles guess it was going to happen. So now to build it the right way going to use stock manifolds and fab exhaust as far as engine I'm seeing what my options are I'm pressed for time and budget basically I'm at a high performance automotive school in Texas and I can do all my work there but only have 4 weeks left before I go back home. So thinking about a used LQ4/9 longblock and put springs and turbo cam, would I be able to re use my intake and injectors with that motor? and what else would I need for the swap

Decided I'm going to either swap a 6.0 LQ4 longblock with springs and cam or rebuild my LS1 with forged rods and pistons with 317 heads trying to decide what would be a good turbo cam for my setup and also possibly upgrading my turbo but not sure what to go with I want 550-600 rwhp at 10-12 psi

You could put 20k in the new engine an it will still blow the same way the last did, your stock motor blowing had more to do with, tune and driver. How fast were you going when you decided to boost in 4th and 5th?

I was maybe doing 55-60 the whole pass I watched the AFR and never went lean stayed at 10.5-11...Im changing a few things this time around to help with the boost problems I was having, adding manual boost controller and referencing it all from the intake not the turbo housing also using stock manifolds and 2.5inch Y pipe all wrapped and also adding a MSD fuel pump booster to help out my racetronix 255 at WOT and for the time running 8-9psi with the T60

Yep that's what I figured that you were going way to slow to be going into boost like that. You put a ton of load on it while it was low rpms, melted a piston. You need a way to data log, it's easy to say what it was at the whole time but when you log and an go back an see what really took place it's alot different. Not to mention you need a new turbo, a t60 is just asking for melted pistons and broken ring lands.

if you nuked the ringland on #7, which odds are you probably did, theres a good chance the debris went through your exhaust and may have killed your turbine wheel on the turbo. Take the turbine housing off and check your turbine wheel.

ew, that sucked, hows the car these days? im doing a build myself but im starting with a T76. im starting with the reference in the compressor hosing to get everything started. i might do the long stretch tot he manifold later but for now this is where im referencing mine. i have the option though since i jus got a vacuum manifold with an extra port if needs be. im also having a custom cam speced out for me to help spool a bit, still using my stock bottom ls1 but will run 317 heads to drop the CR to about 9.8 with .040 gaskets
