Hey wussup guys im in the process of getting my turbo build going and u can see my plans in my sig a 6.0 block stock crank, eagle h beam rods, and a set of pistons that u guys help choose. I plan on making 700+ rwhp any ideas on a piston selection and a part number if possible. Im trying to get them order at least by saturaday thanks guys for the help.

Yea i will call them because im not to educated when it comes to difrrent cc pistons the only way i can look at it is if its a negative cc piston it lowers compression and is made for boost. But yea i will call them and see what they recommend. I started to go with wiesco pistons but it seems they are almost as much as diamond so its like why not go with diamond pistons

I've been running Diamond dished since 2005. I've put 40k+ miles at over 650rwhp with no hiccups.
I know a lot of people use Wiseco with good results. I stay away from them just because I've seen a ton of problems with them in my motors in the 2 stroke world. A lot of people run them on the LS platform with good results though.

Well it seems so far i cant go wrong with either piston it really just comes down to the money diffrence vs's the 2 pistons i just cant believe for the steel top rings for diamond pistons are and extra $239 thats steep if u ask me but i guess u have to pay to play. The only thing ive heard about wiesco pistons is that they grow quite a bit under alot of heat making them stick out of the block a tad bit. Is this true if so why?

Some things you should consider before you pick your piston is what do you want your static compression to be? From there you need to know the volume of your head and you can play a bit with your gasket thickness to fudge the compression number. I would start with .053 work from there. Many compression calculators (you can find this all on line or even from the summit website looking at head gaskets) will ask for the following: bore, stroke, piston zero deck clearance (leftover room when piston is all the way up), volume of head, piston volume and gasket overbore. Play with the numbers and you can find a piston to mactch your needs. My Wiseco's are rated at zero deck clearance, but I'm not sure that was an off the shelf part since it came from TSP.

I would like my compression to be around 9:5:1 i dont want it too low like 8:5:1 because with a tc78 turbo i would think the lag would be horrible. I will use stock #317 heads with stock valves i think the combustion chamber volume is 71.06cc on those heads stock. But like u said the thickness of the head gasket will play a factor in compression ratio too as well as the piston growing and not hitting the head. I will give wiesco a call and see what they recommend.
