Compressor wheel damage ?

Photo taken from earlier, not quite so clean, but still visible. Several high rpm blasts whilst tuning between first pic and second pic. ( only reason I was in there earlier was I was cleaning the air filter )

Why does it look so much like a crack ?
Just checked some photos from 2007 when the bearings failed. The line is visible way back then ? Still looks bad today though ?

There is definitely a mark there when new. So in a way that's good to know. Still looks wrong though !!

But yep if it goes, the compressor cover will be fucked.
Maybe someone will make me a billet upgrade then lol
What was the deal with the previous bearing failure, age or something else?

But current bearings have been in for some time now.
And paranoia about belt slip was the reason for overtightening lol. Even with a 12 rib dedicated drive at the top end there was small amounts of slip. Fitting a brace at the front allowed plenty of tension which almost eliminated it.
How some of you guys in the US manage with even smaller pulleys than me, and less ribs without slip is a mystery.
So, I decided **** that. Cogs are the only way forward to eliminate slip. So I'm now on a 50mm cog drive, with barely any tension on the belt and it's working great. And quite noisy lol
