Default question about stock ring gap.

i am hopefully starting my turbo project today or tomorrow and setting up a dyno/tune appointment for speed density tune as soon after as i can.

after talking with a few tuners, i am slightly worried about my weak link being the rings...
i totally understand ring end gap and why if they were to butt together it can break the piston.. however i didnt think i was going to be in danger of this at my sought after boost/hp numbers...

heres my setup:
2004 lq4, stock head bolts, head gaskets, ARP rod bolts, pac 1518 valve springs, comp pushrods, billet timing chain, 2004 LS6 cam,
73lb/hr injectors(@ 43.5psi) dual 255's in tank, -8 fed/-6 return. aeromotive regulator.
4L80E trans. Circle D triple disc 3500 stall.
moser 12 bolt.

the turbo setup is a 1 5/8 primary shoty header, wrapped into a 2 1/2 crossover, into a well desgnied schedule 10 log manifold. into a tc78 with a 1.15 a/r... 3 1/2" downpipe, 50mm jgs wastegate.
a2a inetrcooled, 12x24x4, 3" piping

its all in a 99 gmc sonoma reg cab short bed.
i had originally thought that id be able to run this combo at 10-11psi on straight 93 pump. no meth(yet)
i was reccommended to tune it for 8psi on straight pump, im not concerned with the number of psi, however i have a goal to make 500 bare minimum(!!) 550rwhp was really what i wanted... and run 10.99999 in the 1/4....
the truck will hook, (cal tracs, adjustable shocks, etc..) and weighed 3700 with me in it last year with a/c, hard tonneau, etc, hoping even with the turbo stuff its down around 3500 this year.

id appreciate some insight, i am looking to get it tuned soon. and dont wanna tune it to make the number and be pulling the motor back out in the spring because it blew up...
how much can i go to attain 500-550rwhp and still be considered "safe"
(have a wideband in the truck also)

thank you very much, sorry for the long post
Keith

you should be fine past 11 psi on pump if your tuner knows what hes doing, i run more than that with higher compression than you on strait 93

excellent. i wouldnt think it would be a problem but this is my first lsx turbo build....(had one sbc turbo before, with wider ring gaps..)

im gonna have it tuned with my 11psi spring in the w.g. and see how it goes....
