Default Got a few questions guys.

I searched, and i just dont have time to sort through a crapload of threads.

1. What are some good rings and bearings to go with? also, clearances?

2. I have the rollmaster double roller timing chain, i got it off here, but it didnt come with any oil pump shims, and does it need any type of bearings on the back side? all i got is the sprockets and chain. and i cant find any threads with the info about shimming, so if someone can help me out with that it would be greatly appreciated.

3.Whats a good head gasket to run for just a 3.905 bore? seems the LS9's are popular.

thanks for the help.

1. I used Speedpro Hellfire, affordable and durable
I think I used .0020 on the mains and .0025 on the rods.

I considered the hellfires but i heard they can wear on yoiur cylinder walls excessively over time because theyre stainless steel. any truth? and ive read between .20-.28 on the rings nad havent found anything on the rods or mains besides what you just said, so atleast i have a starting point, thanks!

bump again, i finally found the info on the LS9's, there compressed thickness is .51, which is not enough, i need a minimum of .55, so what is a good gasket to run that wont push water and is suitable for boost?

second, i called around about gettin a hardware kit for the rollmaster, they wont sell it seperate, id have to buy another chain, and still cant find any info on shimming the oil pump for the double roller.

Why do u need. 55 head gasket. Did u have ur heads milled? If u absulutley have to have that thickness then fine but if its just being recomended and. 51 will work g with ls9. They are 7 layers and work great.

had the block decked for true-ness since its a turbo build, and my pistons come up slightly over the bore, juts barely, and the machine shop told me that it wont be an issue if i run a .55 head gasket, i trust what they say, since theyre building some of the fastest X275 turbo cars and breaking records, the shop is Harrell Engine & Dyno in denton NC.
