Default Boost referenced Propane fueling

I spoke with a guy the other day who is setting up a boosted trans am where all of the additional fueling will be done with a boost referenced propane injection, the stock fuel system will be used completely unchanged, but once boost hit, it will introduce propane as the additional fuel.

anyone heard of this? apparently the propane has an octane of like 122 and is completely gaseous, so it mixes perfectly

I got a guy that comes into my auto parts store and is running a mid 80s Chevy pickup on straight propane 350 motor. If its going to be making good power he going to need a good size tank and its going to be in the car, hope ur guy don't smoke lol

Nothing new about using Propane for spark ignition engines. But whilst Propane is higher octane, it contains less energy and offers less charge cooling as it's injected in gaseous form.

When liquid gas injection systems become readily available, now that will be fantastic. There are systems out there now, but still early days yet. That will offer a massive cooling hit to the intake charge.

did this for years back in the early 2000s in the Buick GN world, it works awesome and is nothing new! Jay Carter designed and sold a kit under the "Pro-Pain" namesake back in the late 90s and into the 2000s. Many guys running upwards of 20-25psi on pump gas back then
