Default APS Twin Turbo Kit install help

I just bought a APS twin kit still new in the box for my 2000 SS. After reading through the instructions I realized I need a new k member. The kit calls for a BMR km003. I was wondering if anyone else had this same kit and what they were using for a k member. I found some out there that are even lighter then the km003.

Also I was looking for some help with a cam. Car has a LG Motorsports G5X3 cam in it now. With a little reading I don't think that will work very well.

I have a set of 317 6.0L heads sitting in the garage too. Would there be any value putting them on over the stock ls1 heads. Would the power gains be worth the time of changing them?

I am interested in any used parts that will help piece this together. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hey Nick

BMR actually makes a slightly different kmember for people with the aps kit. But you have to call and speak to Lee to order that one. They build them per order and lee is the only one who knew what I was talking about when I called. I just got mine a few weeks ago. ITs supposed to leave extra room for the intake pipes.

Hope that helps

The cam will work. The difference between it and a FI cam, is that it will lack the low end, and spool a few hundred RPMs later, but it will make more peak power.

If its still new in the box, Id suggest doing turbo upgrades now, rather than later. I just had a new set come through, and they were total garbage. Compressor blades rubbed the cover, and they were brand new.

If you dont have the budget, Id put the kit on the way it sits, and tear it down when it breaks for a new engine/camswap at that point.

i have the New DKT/BMR kmember ordered. hope to see it soon. but the APS/BMR one is great also.
I agree with Louis if you can afford an up grade do it now. There is Now a ball bearing upgrade option. DKT made them with precision turbos help. there is 3 options. 6262, 6266, 6766. check this out for some pictures. hope to get mine in here shortly
