log manifold question
log manifold question ok so out of curiosity is it ok to build a log manifold out of mild steel?
mainly the log being 16ga mild steel.i looked and didnt find much info
on the web.the turbo would be supported by a bracket not the log.
the only reason i can think of why not to is heat from the primarys.
iirc stainless expands more than mild steel so wouldnt there be
less of a chance for it to crack?been thinking of building one
since my truck mani is cracked.

Weld els are thick and seem bulky but they make a lot of sense. I wish there were sch 10 mild steel elbows but I looked everywhere and had no luck. Sch 40 log will not weigh that much more than a cast iron manifold, depending on complexity.
