Default What fuel should I use???

I am kind of torn between C16 and MS109 for racing. I like the fact the 109 is unleaded so a little easier on plugs, sensors, etc, but also like the fact of the extra octane from C16.

Shooting for 200-205mph in the Texas Mile next week, but it is a street car and will have a 93 tune for the street. However, I will be filling it up 1-2 times a month, switching tunes, and adding half a tank to race at the track or somewhere in another country south of here.

My Setup...

402
Ported LS3 heads, 232/244 cam
YSI(guessing 17-19psi)
Dual Meth Injection
75-100 wet Nitrous shot.

Suggestions welcome on both. Thanks!

I did 202mph in a mile in a very un-aerodynamic car and on a damp track on pump fuel + water/meth last year.

rpm's available and aerodynamics were hitting hard otherwise could go more. Of course, still losing traction at 180+ also didnt help :o

Engine spec doesnt sound too different from yours, although I had different heads. As the Vette is far more aerodynamic, you should be able to do it with ease as long as your gearing is suitable.

Thank you, Stevie.

I've been to most the Texas Mile events in the last years. The one thing I have noticed that you can't predict is weather conditions. We often get hot days with 20-30mph head winds, and I've seen MPH drop from the same car up to 15mph from different events when the DA and track conditions were better. Thanks for the input.

Back to the fuel issue. Can anybody suggest which would be better on my car.

I don't have injectors for it. The fuel system is complete and the 93 3 bar tune starts tomorrow.

I considered it, but opted against it since this car will see 700+mile road trips on 93 pump gas. 800-850rwhp on pump should be enough on the street, and either 109 or c16 is within a couple miles of my house and I'll have a tune for it when I need it.

Whilst I know little about race fuels. I think safest approach would be to use the lowest octane race fuel. Reasoning being it will be closest to your current fuel and have the least amount of chance of affecting any tuning, but still hopefully give you some safety margin.

Or perhaps mix 50/50 or thereabouts 109 and pump fuel.
