Default Timing chain

Working my motor over and going to replace the timing chain.
Was thinking double roller or the C5R t chain from Katech.
Your thoughts?

I would go with the LS2 chain myself. $40 bucks at the dealer.

I went with the LS2 as well. Double roller seemed overkill for the relatively mild build I was planning.

I went with the c5r chain. Having two chains doesn't necessarily make it better since the entire unit is only as strong as the weakest link. The c5r chain has never been broken and requires no modifications to install.

Ya the LS2 chain would probably work, but when you skimp out on the little items they tend to be the ones that come back and bite you. I've had a LS2 chain on a previous motor and it had a lot of slack. I also bought the timing chain dampner from katech. Probably overkill, but a piece of mind.

The LS2 chain and gears I got from yank has twice as much slack as the stock one looking at the chain it does not appear to be any thicker or different than stock
I might test fit my stock gears and the LS2 chain to see if maybe the LS2 gears are a little smaller
Maybe this is why an LS2 came with a tensioner
