Blown 383 Questions
Hi guys I have usually been against blowers on cars because they always stick out of the hood and that just ruins the look for me. Then I saw the Weind 142 and 144 blowers.

So I started thinking how would a built 383 with 8.5 comp ratio running on 93 octane, with good aluminum heads fair with one of these blowers. Would it be possible to crank the boost up to 7-8pi ? With a good size cam and everything working together would 425-475rwhp be achievable ? Thanks guys and if any one has ran one of these or has an opinion please chime in !

I suggest you use the search feature, because you are asking some very weird questions.
Since when did blower cars always have a blower sticking out of the hood ? Maybe 30 years ago ?
And if that's all the power you want, you could easily get it without boost. 8.5:1 CR may well be good...if you intend running say 20psi. Other than that you would never go so low.

So this isnt actually an LS motor you are referring to ?
And what car is this for ? The more info you give, the more people can help.
There will be various turbo and supercharger options. And not all SC's are valley mounted. Centrifugal blowers are mounted remotely and will not stick out the hood.
A lot depends on the sort of power delivery you want, the look you want etc etc
Either way 475rwhp should not be difficult for any setup.

Well for starts this is just an idea I am tossing around. Yes this is going to be a Gen1 sbc, 383 stroker, The motor would be going in a 70 Camaro with a t56 and 4.11 gears. I want a street warrior/maybe drag 3 times a year. Yes I know about centrifugal superchargers but I just dont like the look of them or the look of a blow thru carb. I love the look of roots style superchargers when there not sticking out of the hood. I'm looking for a setup that makes good power, somewhat streetable, and is concealed.

Not to be an *** but this is a forum dedicated to the gen3 and 4 gm v8.... not the gen 1 sbc. You might want to try a forum where the denzins are a little more versed on gen 1 sbc parts and setups.
