Headers on SC ls1

Headers on SC ls1 Alright guys I'm new to the forum and this may seem like a real dumb question but here tis I have an 01 ws6 with the v9 super charger by vortec I want to get some slp long tubes with an ory and lm exhaust but when I asked the tech at vortec about it he said I couldnt cause I wold run lean and it would cost in excess of a grand just for the mail order tuning to do it
first question is "blush" what does run lean mean and wha would it do to my car second question is would it really cost an extra grand for tuning on top of labor and parts to do this and third question is there any other mods I could do for a more reasonable price for some decent gains without having to pay a grand for tuning sorry for such a long post but I dont really know what to do I thank you for your replies in advanced If I have skipped any info I will post it up when I figure what it is thanks a lot guys btw the car is basically stock besides the charger and an atr pitbull exhaust how is that catback by the way

I have long tube headers on my car with an off road setup, I was running this with the stock motor and 4-5psi, it was "setup" for 8psi, but with the low comp heads and LT's in lowered boost levels to around 4psi......just get bigger injectors and possibly a bigger fuel pump if you plan on running 8-9psi......mail order tunes do not cost 1000

What size injectors do you think I'll need one of my friends told me that I could get it dyno tuned for about $500 and that would do the trick does that sound right thanks a lot for your reply oh yea also what kind of fuel pump do you think I should get I have about 4000 to drop in her now and I would like to spend wisely

Save your money and get some Jet-Hot headers & Y-pipe. Half the price of the SLP, they don't scrape the ground, and they will last longer. Believe me, I bought the SLP "stainless" headers and they have completely rusted and degraded over the last 3 years. I just switched to the Jet-hots.
Also, I don't know what Vortech is talking about.
Some of those techs over there are right on the money, but others are talking out the side of their neck. Headers are THE BEST THING FOR a supercharger!
Get a custom dyno-tune with LS1-edit, and toss that piece of junk Superchips programmer that comes with the kit.

Alright then Jet Hots it is How about that catback is that any good and how much is the custom dyno tune with ls1 edit sorry for all the questions but I really dont know and I dont want some back woods mechanic price gouging me and screwin up my car
