Question Got a few questions for the boosted small cube 346-347 guys.

My 347 is on the home stretch, wont be long until its finished, still need to get a cam and an intake/tb, but other than that its all here. Im just trying to find out what to expect, what to consider, what to change ect ect..

First off, who all runs the 317 heads? if you did, what kind of power did you make with what turbo? what CR was you at? what PSI?

what intake choices are good ones, vic jr? LS1,LS6? Edelbrock Pro-Flo? that may be too big for a small cube app

Turbo's. im gonna pick one of these,PT76-PT78-PT80-PT88, who ran what and what did you make? how was spool time? what vehicle weight? my nova with me in it will be around 3200lbs.

running a TC76 .96 AR with 317's and an ls6 cam on stock shortblock. makes just shy of 600 rwhp @ 10 psi and runs 10.4's @ +/- 133 at 3450 raceweight. spool time if pretty much instant.

i think the stock shortblock is getting tired, I plan on doing a 347 on the same setup with a different cam and shooting for 700-750 to the tires.

Thats what i like to hear, but, i heard that the 317 heads are useless with a cam above .600 lift. any truth to that?

I am currently selling a PT88 that has 1 season (1500 miles on it) that was paired up with my 347. https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...son-radio.html

Spool wasn't bad considering I spent no time at all working on the timing to help spool it.

My setup had a VicJr and Aarons elbow with a stock 78mm TB. Set up worked well and went an easy 9.5@147 in a 3600 lb car with a 1.6 60' on 14 psi (car was too rich on the T brake and would bog) but would make an easy 10psi on the T brake at 3800 rpm.

Never got to see how much farther I could push things as I bent the stock crank. So I am looking to build a new bigger motor and put a bigger turbo on it
