Default ls9 or cometic gaskets for 408 f1c

Are the ls9 gaskets any better then the cometics? Seems like a lot of people are using them. I'll be running an iron 408 with etp heads and a max effort f1c. I'm pretty sure the bore size on the ls9 gasket is quite a bit bigger than my bore which I was trying to avoid which is why I wanted to use cometics

Why do you want to avoid the bigger bore gasket. Guys have been pushing the ls9 gaskets really far on 5.3 blocks and that is an even smaller bore

What dimensions are you looking for? What thickness? We use cometics on a lot of max effort engines in our shop with great success, I may have what you need in stock.

You want to match the gasket to the heads. For example, if your heads are 4.125" then you should use a gasket that size or larger. The ls9 is 4.100", but many have used it with a larger bore successfully.
