Default Options with going to an 8-rib setup/how to get more boost?

ATI says the only way I can use their 8-rib is with their dampener but I'd have to key the crank. Does anyone make an aftermarket set-up that would bolt right on? I'm trying to get about 9 lbs, but at my altitude ( 4500' ), I'm having to use the 3.2 pulley and I can't get it to hold consistently. I only get about 7-8 psi. Any Ideas/sugestions?

I would make sure you're not having THIS problem:

You won't know until you pull the bracket off and check the rear of it, with the idler pulley out of the way. I ran 10 PSI all day, until this started happening over time.

I screwed around with an 8-rib setup all last year and wasted a lot of time and money before changing a cog setup.

BudH - You raise a good point. Almost every thread and question posted on this and similar sites have been asked and answered many times in the past. Users should do searches for their topics PRIOR to asking these repetitive questions.

I never had luck getting "boost" out of my 8 rib, scottws6 still remains to be the one running the 8 rib high boost, no slip application, I don't know how though....

Ok, thanks for info. I'll read up on the cog setup. My tuner said that the cog would be to hard on a stock crank is why I asked if it's safe.

Well an 8 rib requires more tension to get the belt not to slip, this causes added wear on the front bearing when there is a lot of tension......COG belts run somewhat loose....
