I would suggest sending your ecu to frost and have him put a flash tune in so it is drivable. This would give you the ability to drop everything in and get the miles you need on the car before a proper tune. I plan on doing this when the time comes on my care and ill be going SD....

I put about 100Mi on my 370 and then did some N/A dyno runs. I put the procharger back on the following week and got retuned.

you can also check with the tuner your going to in the first place and maybe work out some sort of deal where he can tune it safe long enough for you to break it in before some WOT runs and final tuning. Half now half later deal. tell him what you want. if he doesnt wanna provide the services...you prob shouldnt be there to start with. im lucky to have the one i got.

I had a friend with a TT 370 camaro break it in on the dyno, made 1150rwhp/1200tq on the 3rd pull when it stopped smoking.

Hard break in FTW.

Bring it to the tuner. Have them start it up and run it in. Do not throw in a mail order tune and put easy miles on it hoping it's right.

All our motors get started up and break in runs on the dyno with some wot. You have to seat the rings ASAP.

I have a pretty reputable tuner much like frost in my area. He flashed my ecu given the specs I gave him and told me to run it at 4-5psi until break in was done then have a proper dyno tune. Plugged it in and the car fired right up. Drove fine and a little rich during break in, but no issues. I put about 1000 miles on it and did what I'd think would be a proper breakin on my freshly forged ls1. I also used royal purple break in oil and all went fine. Tuner by me is Brandon at fastune.net.

BTW, my way of breaking it in is to vary my throttle and get on it. Not to drive it like Ms Daisy were in the hatch.

One of my buddies spent a good 5k miles breaking in his engine easily. Then when he was done, he proceeded to treat it like he would the rest of it's life, and it blew up on him.

He could have saved him self about 5k miles of time and gas and all the oil changes and just blew it up right out of the gate. If it's going to blow or not, isn't because of how many miles you have on a fresh rebuild.

I really think people go way too in depth with "proper break in," 50 wasted oil changes, and idling around.

Break it in on the dyno, or take it out on the street and do some pulls. We were doing some 200ft burnouts with a friends 355 LT1 within 10 miles of being built. Still runs like a champ.

I'd change oil after 50 miles or so then be on your way.

When the time comes I'm going to have mine broke in on the dyno like mentioned in a few post above. However, I do have a Frost mail order tune for the initial startup.
