more stroke vs more bore with a turbo
I was wondering what people think is better in a heads up class were you are limited to a certain size turbo so smaller cu in is needed
Would you rather have more bore or more stroke
example turbo reals limited to 76 so you want to build something smaller than 340 inches
would you build a 3.83 bore with a 3.62 stroke (330 cu in) or would you build 4.0 in bore and a 3.27 stroke (330 cu in)

also more stroke can run tighter converter and less rpm easier on parts
but if you look at most class racing engines they are big bore small stroke just interested to here why

I think that is so they can get more revs. More revs give more horsepower. I know in the supra world when guys are going for 30+lbs of boost they spin the motors to 10k rpm in order to get there. It all depends on what you are looking to do.

The larger bore gives you more valve diameter and less shrouding, this helps flow. Making the engine smaller is done so the turbo/ci match up will run higher into the rpm band. It all needs to work with the other components in the car, but I would run the cylinder size at 4 and take the stroke down. Better quality heads available at 4 inch.
