I have a Holset HX55 turbo I will be puting on my LS1 soon and its pretty tight for space as far as pluming and everything else in the engine bay. It would be much easier to do a rear/mid mount. The car is a 1978 corvette so I dont have the space like some do in the engine bay.
I do have a spot before the rear end so it wouldndt be completly in the rear of the car, pretty much right behind the seats under the floor. I have heard its no good putting large turbos in the rear.
Does anyone have any input on how bad this turbo will lag if I put it not front mounted?
Thanks

Yea I have no idea on the a/r. Thats what I was thinking probably too big. I have heard good things about them being ran up front. How do you like yours? What hp are you getting out of your car and what have you upgraded on the motor?

It is a very large and very heavy turbo. I wouldn't run one in a rear mount.
TC series turbos are nicely sized for rear mount applications. They are relatively small frames for their power potential.
