cant get manual boost controller to work

cant get manual boost controller to work bought this and didnt come with instuctions and i hooked it up a couple different ways but cant get it to work my waste gate is a tial and it has 2 vacum ports and here is a pic of the controller i got any help would be appreciated
i would try skipping the tee, put the boost source in from the lower port on the big piece, and the upper port to the wastegate.

I have thrown away quite a few cheap ebay units as well....the Hallman Pro is not that expensive and from my experience has been a very reliable unit in many different builds. As stated above, one side to boost reference, other side directly to the side port on the Tial and leave the top port open to atmosphere.

I have one of these. I can't figure out the Tee. I assume it's supposed to be a check valve but usually you can blow throw it from one end and not the other. I can get air to go thru from either end. What's the purpose of the check valve anyway?
