Default Taking out oil level sensor?

While installing my downpipe the other day, saw that it is sitting way to close to the oil level sensor wire. Probably going to have to ditch this sensor and rely on the ol' dipstick to tell me if things are going to hell. My question is that if I get rid of this, is there some sort of dummy light in the dash that will be on all the time? Thanks!

I have a 2000 ss gauge cluster with all the lights already taken out for what you need and some I would sell for 75 shipped. Has 63k miles on the odometer. Let me know if your interested.

Yea, im thinking same thing for my truck. It will display low oil level on the message screen. But im sure i can install a resistor in the connector to simulate correct reading.
also thought of using it as a return/drain for turbo.
I check the oil in my vehicles 2 times a week at least anyways

The oil level sensor is too low to use for a drain; the drain needs to enter the pan above the oil level

Cut the connector off, and put the 2 wires together. That turned off the light in a 02 TA I did, the 98 may be the same. I usually weld that hole shut on most pans.
