Cam for T6 88mm on 346
I posted over on performancetrucks, thought I'd try over here too. Building a forged ls1 for my 2005 crew cab. Built 4l80e conversion with 3.73 gears, weighs 5300lbs and trying to figure out a cam that wont be a total dog down low but will still make good power. I know speed inc makes a couple of grinds that supposedly make good power and aren't crazy lift, but not sure how that would do in a truck. I would like a noticeable idle if at all possible. 88mm T6 1.08 exhaust turbo, 243 heads, all ARP bolts and studs, PI converter currently stalled at 3600, tranny brake. Motor will be 9.5 to 1. Any help or suggestions is appreciated
I don't really mind an off the shelf turbo cam, it just seems that looking at the cams from speedinc, virginia speed, etc., that everybodys specs are all over the place and I just didn't know for a heavy truck like mine I didn't want something that would not seem to pull itself from a stoplight under normal driving, but would still make power to about 6500. From what I have been able to find out with the search button, it seems like the tu1 from speedinc has a pretty noticeable idle, but had not been able to find out what it drove like in a truck with a 4l80.
