Default LSA swirl wing. Effects?

To what power level do these swirl wings help rather than hurt? Do they become a restriction after a certain lift? How would the lsa heads compare to the ls3's on an 800 hp turbo engine?

Mine were CNC'd by Richard at west coast racing the wing is no longer in my heads, I was told it becomes a restriction past a certain point.

Here are mine after I had them hand ported. We took out most of the swirl wing, but left just a bit to help with atomization. As far as these vs LS3/L92s, these are casted with a stronger material (same as LS9s) and have a slightly thicker deck.

The main reason I went with the LSA heads was to see how fast we can go with them, I believe they are way stronger than the other factory heads but no one i can find has pushed them to the limit but intend to very shortly mine are cut for 1/2" studs they are on my LSX block.

Bump. Is there any particular forum where you can ask sponsors questions (or forums that sponsors more frequently check)? Any company that ports LSA heads should be able to answer this.

Can someone post a picture of an untouched port to see the swirl wings?

Just an FYI, per Richard at WCCH he stated that the LS9 heads have thicker decks. The LSA heads do not come with thicker decks but they are both made with the stronger material.

He said a lot of people make this assumption.

I was thinking of removing the wing when I get my LS9 heads. I'm hoping for over 1000RWHP.

For anyone wondering, the swirl wing is the indentation next to the valve guide:

The main plus for the LSA/LS9 heads is they are roto cast which produces a much more dense/stronger casting to begin with.

OK, GM has to compromise between alot of things with this port. Whats going on with the RPM, piston speed, airspeed in the port, for what the engine is doing most of the time, and the engine making the strict emission regulations.
Performance under WOT for max power is not the main goal as cast.
