problems with running a TVS1900 on milled heads? So I've been told its not a good idea to run a supercharger with high compression. engine Can someone explain to me why this is? what problems it can cause? I have a LS2 with LS3 rectangle heads which have been milled .030" which has my engine running at the standard LS2 10.9:1 compression ratio. What issues would I have running a TVS1900 on this? I see people running superchargers on the standard LS2 without any problems. Thanks in advance for you help |
Lots of people run TVS blowers on high compression engines. GM even does it, that should tell you something. |
People generally don't like to run high compression and boost. It makes the cylander pressure higher and can make it more pronned to detonation. You run a higher risk of popping a stock piston also. On a forged motor I wouldn't be worried about the higher compression |
.030 is a lot of material to remove from a factory head. I would not push it to hard or lifting a head is in the near future. |
You won't have any issues, your comp ratio is not any higher than stock. And it will take quite a bit of boost to lift the heads. |
Thanks for all the responses. I only plan on running a basic 5psi so shouldn't be any problems. |
