Default Vacuum pump on turbo application

How many of you guys are running vacuum pumps on your boosted applications? Is there much benefit to it or need? I'm looking for some actual facts and knowledge on the subject as I've heard one but seen another..

See that's the thing I already have a gz Motorsports super pro pump from my nitrous setup just didn't know if I should carry it over to new setup for boost or not. Also I'm pulling out of driver side valve cover. I thought about pulling out of valley cover since it would be more centralized for maybe a more even draw of vacuum? I'm not to sure so I'm deff looking for advice.

I'm not an expert But I am a fan. You want a clean charge. Crank spins easier through less windage. Rings seal a little better. All a benifit in my book. I'm going to be installing one on my car probably in the next month or so. Just don't mix up vacuum pump and scavenge pump two different things.

Whatever you do run a mechanical one and not an electric one. Since you have a GZ you should be good to go. Peterson or Star Machine are also great units.

.

I just bought a ProCharger from a SBC, 2100 HP combo.
He runs a vac pump and has had no issues.
I've also been asking around and everyone else said it won't keep up on mine and just use puke tanks??
At my power (1800-2000+ HP) I highly doubt 15 HP is worth it and I'm 95% sure I'm not putting my Moroso back on??
Less stuff to squeeze in and one less belt/pulley set up to buy.
I already have a dry sump and belt drive fuel pump to deal with.

If you already own it, why not try it?? but be very careful or like you said, sealing might be an issue??
My problem is at 200-210 mph I can't risk it and I think puke tanks are the safest for me??

Yea the belt issue is kind of a PITA because I run motor plates and just an alternator is my only Acc so I played a little hell setting it up last time.

it's also in just one valve cover and I thought about moving it to valley cover... Is that good or bad?

My up and forward headers might create a clearance issue also.

On my puke tank I take a wrist sweat band like you see the basketball players or tennis players wearing and I put it around the vent filter on the puke tank, helps keep from any liquid squeezing through to the ground!!

.

I buy the bulk bag of terry cloth rags, and tie wrap a fresh one on the vent each pass.
I use it like another tuning tool, to see if the blow by is increasing??
I actually caught a problem when the rag got wetter & wetter.
My vac pump couldn't keep up and I blew the seals out of the tunnel ram.
I was being cheap, and didn't want to waste the trip to the track,
and ended up paying for it in down time and labor.

I've found zero difference between a valve cover, fuel pump block off or valley.
The windage gets sucked out just as easy from any of them.
