Got in the 9's in my LTD, JY 5.3

We've built a few 6.0 cars now, fox we just did went 124 in the 1/8th on only 17lbs of boost on his first easy passes in the car. Nothing wrong with bigger motors as long as the turbo can support it.

Are you using a stock PCM and HP tuners? That's my biggest fear, having to rely on a tuner that may or may not know his way around a turbo motor. My friend is great with a XFI though. just more $'s
Got me thinking lol. I have a JY LQ4 sitting here. Do you use the truck manifolds, ford headers, or what for the hot side?
TIA

The car has manifolds, that is about all I'll say on the turbo kit and how we did it.
I did hurt the motor finally two weeks ago, melted outside of two pistons. I'm FAIRLY sure it was from the lingenfelter 2000 box screwing up though as every time I activated it to pull timing it freaked out and the car cut out bad, even pulling out only 1 degree of timing it still freaked out. After that it never ran smooth again and a few passes later is when it hurt it, this was during a heads up race so we kept pushing the car. The log from the pass it hurt itself looked great too. I put in another JY L33, this one has more miles, 156k miles, but I had to get another motor in the car to make a race this weekend or I could've got a motor with around 100k miles again.
Drove the car 3 hrs to the track this weekend and raced it and drove it 3 hrs home, made around 20 passes and the new motor seems to be working good, went the 10.25 slip above on it and with ballast in the back so weighing in over 3900lbs. Also checked mileage on the way down and got 20mph on e85. Hopefully can get the car into the 9's on street tires sometime this year, but driving 3hrs to the track(since our local track closed) makes it harder to get passes in.

been kick the idea around about putting a turbo on a 4x4 5.3 chevy truck. to play on the street.
its sucks they shut down KC (damnit)
would have loved to see your car in action... one hell of a sleeper
