Default Hey trtturbo

What kind of results/impressions do you have of the STS?
How long did it take you to install?
Did STS help install? I read your other post that you installed it there.
Clearnance/fitment problems if any?
Sound of the exhaust note after compared to before?
Any other info you would like to share TIA.

Charlie.

We installed it ourselves, just asking a few questions along the way. We did want to do it by ourselves since we opened a shop to sell and install them.
The install is pretty easy. It took us about 7 - 8 hours, but that was with gauges.
Quality is great, and even better now because they upgraded the coating of the pipes.
I really dont have any clearance problems unless its a big speed bump or with 2 adults in the rear. The only thing I have scraped is the pipe that runs under the left lca.
The exhaust sounds great to me; a little like Borla but has that cool popping sound when you let off with the 6 speed. The exhaust on my car is a 3 in pipe out of the turbo into a big Corsa tip. I did take it off to see what it sounds like and you can really hear the turbo with it off, but the exhaust noise was muffled sounding. If you drive the car normally (not in a hurry) you hear nothing of the turbo. Drive a little aggressive and you hear some spool up and the blow off vavle. Drive hard and you hear a huge rush of air which is the excess coming out of the wastegateand the blow off valve when you shift. I am very pleased so far. The car made 412/451 @5psi and no tune. I have taken it to an 1/8 mile track and the car has huge launch issues (2.4 and 2.5 60 ft)so times were not great, but its doing
90mph through the lights. With an A4 car and a stall it will be great.

With 60ft times like I had there is a tone of room for improvement. That was on full tread GS-c's. I was a little dissapointed, but if I was trying to build a good drag car, it would not be a m6 and everything wouldnt be all stock. You will see after you get the 5psi going, there is a big difference.

turbos are load dependant too, if you were spinning you wouldnt see full boost.

Are you planning fuel system mods and tuning anytime soon?

I will get it tuned soon, but I am normally not hard on my car and that is the first time in a year I have even been to a track so the car will probably never have anything else done to it. I have a 6.0 iron block in the works for a reg cab step side truck. It will absolutely be a stalled auto. Plan on doing forged internals and good fuel system so I can show what this turbo system is capable of.
