Default Little problem with the 370/F1A

Ok I hope someone has solved this problem before. My setup is as stated 370 ci with an F1A thats maxed out the cam is 634/634 with 254/260 dur. and 114 the problem we are having is at 17 to 20% throttle just when it looses vacuum and starts making boost the motor starts popping and crackling until the tcc locks up. Afr is at about 13.40 when this starts. Someone told me to run a lighter spring in the big red race valve will this help? I called Procharger and they dont offer a lighter spring. This cam combo only has at the most -8 to -10psi on vacuum could the cam be too big. thanks jeff

That cam is pretty damn big ecspecially for a boosted car if I calculated correct the overlap on that cam is 29 degrees which is a lot.

I thought it was a little big but we called Crane and gave them all of the info on the build and the charger and they speced this cam for us. jeff

That cam sounds way off for your combo. Your not a large CI motor so that cam is not well speced for your car. Mine is just a touch bigger then the BruteSpeed cam and runs great. 235/243 613int 623exh 115lsa. Not sure if that's your only problem but it's deff not great for your combo. Sounds more like its in the tune though.
