well methanol is alcohol. are you talking about ethanol vs methanol? methanol by far seems to be the best

It's usually mixed with the alcohol.

I use Denatured Alcohol. It's a little meth and water already mixed. You can use certain windshield wiper fluids as well as long as the tune is good for it.

Here's a cool link showing the differences in how much heat you can pull out based on injecting straight water up to injecting straight methanol.

http://www.aquamist.co.uk/vbulletin/...98&postcount=2

First ask youself what you are trying to accomplish by injecting a secondary chemical additive. Is it for a liquid/chemical intercooler to cool the intake charge? This could be from having two small or no air/air or air/water intercooler? Or are you looking to increase octane only when in boost which is when you really need it. Or are you looking for it to make as much power as possible?

Me personally, I like the fact that a mixture of methanol and water not only cools the intake temperature, but it also helps to cool the combustion chamber since the water doesn't burn, it only absorbs heat and doesn't contribute to the heat in the chamber. It also increases torque thanks to the increased pressure that you get from turning water into steam (think steam engine). Water also increases octane rating infinitly since it doesn't burn. Meoh makes more power since it's combustible.

Thank the US military for pioneering the use of water and water/meoh injection. They did a lot of research into what the best ratio was for them and came upon a 50/50 mix worked best. Again, it's all about what goals do you want to acheive.
