Definitely put in a bigger spring, we've done 20+ lbs on tc76's on 6.0's and 25+ on 5.3's on precision 76's and it held fine.

I had a manual turbo xs controller on mine and the boost would fall off like that. I put an eboost street on it because of the boost drop off compensation. Turned out I didnt even have to use the feature cause the new controller held the boost rock solid at 20lbs all the way to redline. I picked up 100rwhp at 6k rpms just by swapping controllers. Its only 275 bucks as well.

Where do you have your wastegate & boost controller references hooked up ... intake manifold or compressor outlet?

Curious about this my setup was more restrictive than yours and i had no issues. My car was a 347 76gts through a 3" down pipe and exhaust all the way out the back. It made 830 through a 6 speed on 18psi. Also i had a tial 44mm gate with a 13# spring and a hallman mbc

Yea with the correct spring in the wastegate im sure i would have seen at least 700rwhp. This is on 91 octane no meth. My cr is 8.7:1. We werent seeing any knock yet. Im guessing it will start to knock above 15-16 psi tho. 14 degrees timing.

Also for what its worth i do remember when my car was at heintz it wouldn't make more than 15psi and they found something routed wrong. Cant remember what it was tho. I guess it might have been the wastegate but i was thinking they told me it was the BOV. Anyways long story short check all your lines for anything backwards because mine did sorta the same thing, ran good till 15 then wouldnt go any higher. Swaped the lines and forgot to turn the controller back down and bam! 22psi

hope this helps man! good luck!

Ha thanks man! My gts was just a base 76gts from precision im thinking my CR was right around 9.0 but never checked it on a CR calculator. It had flat top pistons with valve reliefs, AFR 225s 72cc with .006 milled off and a set of ls9 headgaskets. I was on 93 pump gas and mathanol. I loved my setup and hope that i didnt make a make mistake on the new one

I know I know! I've been back and forth a couple different times... I built my fuel system when i was planning on just running pump fuel. With my pumps and injectors i dont think i would get very far on E85.

Make sure you have both chambers hooked up on the wastegate. If you don't have the top chamber hooked up to the solenoid, then you don't get the boost pressure aiding the spring's seat pressure to hold back the exhaust pressure. If this is port isn't used, then all the wastegate needs to crack open by itself is to overcome the seat pressure of that spring.

I still don't understand why companies refer their wastegate springs as a "7psi spring" or a "15 psi" spring. If exhaust back pressure is taken into account, then with a high exhaust pressure system, that "15 psi" spring is actually going to crack open way earlier than 15 psi. Close enough I guess.

Yea I think this is part of the problem too, I just have a vacuum line going to the bottom side of the diaphragm.. I will re route these vacuum lines and put a stiffer spring in.. im sure this will solve the issue. Thanks For the feedback!

Just hoping for 4 digits which I believe is pretty do able through my 6 speed and 12 bolt (fingers crossed)

Car is just for shows, DD duty, and some roll racing in "Mexico" lol

Side note. You should def go E85 but I hear you on the fuel system ***** expensive you have the exact same setup as me and that's what's going to limit me until I can go bigger later on. I figure my injectors will run out first then the pumps/ lines shortly after. I wish we had E85 around here. The closest one is 1.5 hours away. That's just a tad outa the way for daily driving lol
