I wish i can know how those vette guys make more power than us with the same blowers or turbos. Most of the D-1SC guys running 8psi are putting down anywhere between 460-490rwhp while the vette guys are doing over 500rwhp

Do vettes use the same tensioner as F-bodies... What make them run that much boost with no slippage? Is it just luck?

The bracket and tensioner setup is different, I think they get better wrap, I know A&A can do WHATEVER to these cars........

Stock ATI drive on C5s is marginal at best. Most 500+ C5s are Z06s, they have pretty nice heads and cam compared to a stock LS1...

I seen that car Sunday run 140mph sliding all over the track, damn good running car. I didnt look under the hood though so I dont know if the drive is modified but I'm sure it is..

Optic hasn't said what his tensioner/pulley/belt 'trick' is yet.
Maybe that pulley with the spikes/teeth in it.
I forget who makes that...

Fixed Link to Post up top... had an error.

A & A's bracket assembly for Vettes makes a huge difference. All the belt slip problems are eliminated. I think Reichard pulleys are the "secret".

My friend is running 2.75 Reichard pulley on his SC'd viper with no belt slippage whatsoever and making 13psi only on his 540CID stroked motor. I'm going to call Reichard Racing when im going to a smaller pulley with my blower.

Well, some people won't believe this but here is my setup.

c5 - m6 coupe
- Stock ATI Bracket with D1 SC (4.65 6 rib pulley) 8-9psi
- Front mount intercooler with lowered radiator (original A&A design)
- Stock shortblock
- stage II heads with 71cc chambers
- 218/224 cam
- custom alky injection system and other fuel system upgrades

I have not had a chance to dyno it with this setup, but my 1 and only all out run at the track with this setup (they kicked me off for no cage) was an 11.0 at 134 1.8 60ft on drag radials bouncing off the rev limiter in 2 gears (on pump gas). I'm almost sure I could have dipped into the 10s with one more shot at it.

I would guess I'm making 600+RWHP my (42lb injectors are maxed out and i'm wating on the 60# mototrons before I dyno it). It pulls hard. I don't think I currently have any belt slip issues at all. Stock tensioner....

I'd believe it, you should weigh ~3400 (depending on what you weigh) and it takes 555rwhp to go 134mph. 555rwhp out of 9psi with heads/cam is pretty easy to believe, with a decent 60' you should be running mid/low 10s easy..

Right, it's just that most people seems surprised I'm making the power with a 4.65 pulley and the stock ati bracket and 6 rib.

I'm not saying that I've done anything special here, just that the stock ATI bracket setup is good enough for 10s on the c5.

I'm pretty much launching off idle right now since I need to beef up the driveline a bit more and run ET streets.

I have played with a couple C5 ATIs and the problem is the amount of belt wrap and the radiator mounted air filter but they do work fairly well. Most people here are trying to get 14-15psi out of a D1 on a big h/c low compression engine. The f-body pulley setup is nowhere close to the C5 LS1 procharger.

I have seen almost 8.5psi out of my lowly little P1SC (stock motor/headers/cutout) in cold weather with a 3.2 6 rib RR pulley and I have not touched the belt in over 100 track passes and 2000 strett miles - no slip, no dust. I actually bracket race this thing and its amazingly consistant.

But if I added heads/cam and dropped the compression that would all change pretty quick

Reichard pulleys were a waste for me, I got excited about them and all, but for some reason my belts still fried right over them......others have had success w/them though
