Ford newbie has questions Well I'm really not a newbie,just to LS1's 
I have been asked to install an ATI 7#kit w/h 42# inj,stock maf & LS1Edit & I have a few questions.I have installed over a half dozen Prochargers on m*****gs but this will be my first LS1 so here goes:
1) What pump do you recommend? Will a 255 in-tank be enough? Due to my previous experience I'm thinking it won't & don't like the in line pumps as they are noisy & prone to short lives
2) How is driveability w/h these kits & no tuning,I have never tuned w/h LS1 Edit so it will be a true learning experience the mustangs are tuned thru "calibrated" maf's but as I understand it these cars are not & I'm expecting alot of tuning issues anyone drive one w/hout any tuning at all?
3)Any unforseen pitfalls I may need to know about? I was reading a post about the supplied crank bolt may be too long,THIS is the kind of stuff I need to know before flying in on this!

255 is good, you wont be able to start the car with stock tuning and 42#'s, crank bolt in my kit was too long, and bracket puts SC cocked at an angle (ever so slight, but nevertheless at an angle) Tighten and red loctite the crank bolt 250# plus.

I had an ATI procharger, in-tank fuel pump, and 42# injectors put in to my WS6. The car did run. I drove the car home (40 miles), I then drove to a tune shop (60 miles). The car did not idle very well and sputtered a lot due to getting too much fuel. However, I would not drive the car over 2500 RPMs or on a regular basis until you get it tuned.
With tuning, the car will go from driving like @#$% to idling and driving great.

On my blower mod we did the following for tuning:
in the Engine Calculation, calibration of the Power enrichment and injector flow rate
In the Engine Diagnostic the High MAF Fail MHz is increased to 15360, Calc AirFlow needs to be maxed out 1271. otherwise you may bring up codes and reduced power mode.
