I am piecing together turbo parts for a blow through setup on my 5.3l. I am already setup for carb. Someone I know has a pretty good deal on a BW k31 p/n 172143. I am having a hard time finding info about the turbo and if it will work for my application. Any input?

Have you seen the turbo first hand and is there a tag on it? Is there a number for the A/R on the compressor or turbine housing at all? Do you know what it came off of?

I am wandering about this turbo as well. They put this turbo on c12 cat 726 cube diesels motors that make 600 hp.

the one i have are 66 a/r and are 71mm..whit billett wheels

It's the old school bearing setup which is not as reliable as the modern Borg units. The turbine is slightly larger than an s300. An s400 with the same size compressor could easily make 100hp more. We made a compressor wheel that fits it and helps some.

If it's free it'll work, but there are better options.
