Whats the part number on the air filter you ended up using? Is there room for anything larger?

The filter I am using is HUGE lol. I had to mash it in between the frame rail and turbo AFTER trimming it to fit the part number is KNN-RE-0870 from summit.

I'm running the same kit with that same filter. It is too big.
How did you get it to fit ?

I'm getting ready to purchase an air filter...which dimension is too big? The 9" length or the 6" diameter?

It's the length that's the problem.

yea length was the issue. He trimmed it down a little bit at the opening and jammed it on there. it's wedged between the frame rail and the turbo so it's not going anywhere lol

yeah the filter is really large, the 9" length is the issue. I cut off the clamp portion of the rubber, just to the end of the original clamp spot. Then I t-bolt clamped it to the turbo..i'll take a picture tomorrow and post it up on how i got it to fit.

Daily driver? Hope you live close to work and up north. No A/C and 3 SPD doesn't sound like much fun in a daily. Don't take that the wrong way. I'm not knocking you. What rear gear are you going to run? I've seen alot of guys with 2.73's and 3.08's with turbos run good numbers and that wouldn't be too bad.

I hear ya about the windows. I enjoy it too but I do like the option to turn the AC on. My kids like the A/C. I grew up with 3 spds and I wouldn't give up the OD on a daily driver after cruising so many years at 3k rpms with the old automatics. Not saying it couldn't be done, just not enjoyable for me anyway. Sorry to the OP for bogging down the thread.

my kids have their own cars i agree on the daily part but **** it. if i was like the OP id deal with it. sometimes you can only afford one car and the creature comforts get put way far on the back burner when that boost kicks in....

Yeah It is my only car I have been driving it for about two weeks now with no a/c in orlando, FL..pretty damn hot lol, but once the windows are down and you're moving..it's really not bad at all! I still have a 4l60-e in it right now, waiting on my rossler th400. I'm going to be running a 3.00 motive gear. So it won't be too bad. I live maybee 5 miles from my dealership, and i'm here before the sun comes up, and i leave after the sun goes down. So it's all good

Nice looking build! I have to ask though, how can you give up a/c in one of the most humid places in the US on a daily driver?
