Best oil weight?

Best oil weight? I gotta get my oil changed tomorrow, I was wondering what the best oil weight was for my setup. Also, should I use synthetic or does it matter? Thanks a lot for the help.

Reher Morrison recommends 10W30 synthetic for my 622, so I use it, and Mobil recommends 15W50 synthetic for blown motors, so I use that. And I use 10W30 synthetic in my '99 SS street car.
But I do find it interesting that a 16:1, 622 BBC that revs to 8200 rpm uses a lighter weight oil than a blown 414 LS1.

When you break in a new motor. I use 20W 50 Val racing oil, non-sin. For about 1000 miles total. I change the oil at 200 miles with the new motor. Put 20W 50 non-sin back in for another 800 to 1000 miles. Then I run the 15W 50 Moble full-sin during the colder months. And in the summer I'm going to run Moble 1 20W-50 fulley sin to help keep things cool in the motor durring the summer.
Of course this is for a higher HP blower car. N/A would would go with Moble 1 5W-30 or 10W-30 full sin.

I change the oil every two or three times I go to the track and usually use castrol 10w40. I would go broke doing that with synthetic
