Question ** Do Turbos Care If????

they are on a motor with synthetic oil and you switch to reg oil of the same weight?

i run gtx 10-30 sometimes 40 and am currently trying 50.... no it doesnt matter really.

ok, i was running moble 1 15-50 befor, then with the new set up i went to valviline straight 50 non synthetic so i just wanted to make sure the turbos wouldnt be effected like the valve seals and so on.

Nope, motor and turbo won't know the difference. The only difference is after you run the car hard, make sure to do a cool down idle before you shut the motor down. Regular oil tends to coke more then synthetic.

thanks. i did that anyway, my buddy tought me that with his GN about 10 years ago and i never forgot it. some say you dont have to do that, but i always do, it cant hurt.

Turbo timer will help with the cooldown. Put mine in the car last week. Car runs for 30 sec with the key out. lol. Down side is if I want to walk away I have to turn off countdown or wait 30 sec to hit the alarm, but it's nice to have the that insurance for your turbo. I also tend to lean toward synthetics since they don't break down has quickly under high heat, thus allowing you to stay around the 3000 mile change mark. Otherwise expect to change 2000 miles for dino-juice.

i dont do the turbo timer thing.. it takes that 30 seconds to get back to your parking spot

Meant to also say that I can manually lock doors and walk away, but dont think that sets alarm. Anyway, it's 50/50 on insurance/convenience (sp)

My car alarm has a turbo timer built in, I just have to figure out how to enable it...

id rather put the money for a timer into something ealse and wait an extra 30 sec in the car. it takes that long to un buckle and all that good stuff.
