Default 5.3L boost ?

What heads come on it stock? What is the CC
IS it better to leave these heads on it and boost the hell out of it while its stock cubed or go bigger?
76mm turbo I would use and wanna keep the stock bottom end.

So what should be changed on the bottom end?
Arp rod bolts and what?

I would use arp head studs and im thinking of a LS6 intake with ported t.b
Patrick G cam

Anything else I should know for the build and any suggestions?

I would like to keep it bone stock for the engine and what head gaskets? LS9s?

How much boost can effectively be used on a stock 5.3?

Search turbo 5.3's and you'll be busy for days reading on it.

super easy question, everything breaks down to horsepower, how much do you want

you can figure out everything else from there.

so, how much power do you want to make.

most peoples goals can be easily attined with a totally stock longblock and some valvesprings

Stock motor mild cam and a cheap turbo can do 600 rwhp thru a 400 with a brake decent 60 will go 9s easy you can use stock heads and intake and go with a mild boost cam ls9 ls6 etc nearly for free sometimes and ten get a 300 dollar gt45 turbo and hit it with 20lbs and meth on 15 deg and it will make 550-600 or something is wrong

Its remarkable how much boost those small iron motors can take! I think the secret to helping it last under high boost (besides good gas and meth) is opening up the ring gap. I believe there are a few guys on yellow bullet making over 800 RWHP and actually drag racing the cars frequently, not just dyno queens.

With a good tune Boost doesnt kill motors right? Bad gas, and high intake temps do. Correct? So running good e85 and low temps is there a limit on boost? Besides the turbo chokin

so Do I have to run e85 for this to effectively run efficiently?

How much power can be made with a BONE STOCK 5.3 and a ls6 intake with cam and 76mm on e85?

What is needed for a meth kit? I have no idea what that is or whats needed.

E85 is more detonation resistant and runs cooler. Bone stock your limited to your cam and springs. I have a stocker with an ls6 cam and ls9 valvesprings and im experiencing valve float at 18lbs. If you don't run e85 you'll want a meth kit on it, its basically a chemical intercooler. It sprays methanol into your intake to cool the charge.

ok so If I run e85 do I still need the meth?

I will definitely run a different cam and swap springs to accomadate the cam.

What year is the 5.3L in question ? The older gen 3's had 706 cast heads with a 61cc combustion chamber. The newer motors got the the 799's.
